Against these diverse and often incomprehensible threats, the Imperial Guard pits human resolve and ingenuity in an unending battle with an inimical universe. The mighty Tyranid hive fleets batter at the Eastern Fringe, Ork Waaaghs erupt without warning or pause, the damned Traitor Legions pour from the Eye of Terror hungry for Mankind’s souls, mysterious Eldar raiders strike without mercy, the ancient Necrons sally from their tomb worlds and numerous emergent empires, such as the Tau, rise up to challenge Humanity’s mastery. The entire diversity of the massive Imperium is encapsulated in its ranks.ĭespite its awesome power, however, the Imperial Guard constantly struggles to protect the Imperium from its many enemies. Men whose home was blistering desert, tropical jungle, icy steppe or desolate moorland are united under the banner of the Imperium of Man. Half-feral savages march alongside former hive plant workers. It contains billions of men from a million different worlds. They only give some meaningless moral bonus so, ignore them. The Imperial Guard is the largest and most diverse organization the galaxy has ever seen.

little edit: also, Nob leaders are worse than regular nobz, and more expensive (exepted ranged DPS). Bunker's lasguns (activated with 1 squad) are more powerful than the Plasma guns (2 squads), so spread out your units in several bunkers for max DPS. The Farseer's Eldritch storm will destroy Orks generators. Considering that these are fairly static units, unlikely to leave the blaze, think about it when you use it The Hellhound's tier 3 ability, Let it Burn, deals more DPS to heavily armoured vehicules (Land Raider, Baneblade), than a Sentinel. so don't rush the transformation, use your lord to wreck that Baneblade, then transform before he dies! The Chaos lord has twice the DPS against heavily armoured vehicules like the Baneblade than the Deamon prince, and the transformation heals him to full. Grey Kngihts have insane DPS against deamons, but Orks heroes too! An upgraded Warboss can almost single handedly duel a Bloodthirster, and will barely lose (can maybe win with Waaagh)! Can confuse a lot of Chaos players, even experienced, considering how easily the Lord is supposed to win the duel. The Canoness loses against a Chaos lord, but with the Power sword upgrade the fight becomes a very close 50/50 with a slight advantage to the canoness. Invaluable for both new and returning players. The combat stats are incredibly detailed, and are much more relevant than the wiki in the toolbar of this subreddit. Not everyone knows about it because it can be difficult to find if you don't know about it, but there was a wiki on what used to be the relic website, with all Dawn of war 1 units statistics, tips for all units, and so on.
